The factory

Johnston Mailing have for many years believed in working towards environmentally sustainable practices as a key business objective and utilise the very best in mailing fulfilment equipment to achieve high speeds with very low product loss. Running at twice the speed of most of our competition means that the production lines are operating for shorter hours with a result of lower electrical drain on the grid.
 

Print procurement

We only utilise print companies for external print procurement that are FSC and ISO 14001 accredited and all of laser printing stock is made from eucalyptus pulp on sustainable managed sites.
 

Polywrap

As a business we only purchase degradable film for our clients direct mailings. On exposure to UV and heat in landfill this film degrades to microscopic particles rather than normal oil based film that will still be in the same form for decades to come. We are also the first company in Scotland to offer fully compostible film on mailings which is starch based (potato) and will break down completely in a matter of weeks. This is an extremely competitive method in comparison to C4 and C5 envelopes and highlights our organisations commitment to the environment and to our clients.
